Children should see themselves in pictures; just as they are.
It’s documenting children in a space where they are free to be themselves. It’s authentic imagery based on real life.
When I spend time with children and ECE’s at your daycare as a photojournalist, I am engaged, listening, interacting and then composing images. These images come from a place of trust and active participation. It’s a collaborative process where I am part of the learning environment.
The ECE’s are a part of the experience, so will learn photography observation and documentation skills. Meaningful early childhood dialogue will come from the process of the photography as well as when discussing images.
I choose subjects and events during the time I’m photographing. Of course done respectfully and professionally.
